Supporting Community Well-Being
Since 1929, the Hospital Thrift Store has turned sale proceeds from gently used items into much-needed medical equipment, services, and staff housing for the Nantucket Cottage Hospital.
From expanding maternity care to supporting physical therapy, radiology, and palliative care services, to most recently funding a state-of-the-art MRI machine, we have worked to improve the health and well-being of our Nantucket community. Thanks to your support as donors, shoppers, and volunteers, we have generated more than $8 million for the hospital over the past century!

Our Gift in 2024
Wrapping up its 95th year in business, the Hospital Thrift Shop presented a check to Nantucket Cottage Hospital totaling $625,000 which matches last year’s record amount.
Hospital president, Amy Lee, commented, “I can’t thank the staff and volunteers of the Thrift Shop enough for their ongoing dedication and hard work. These much-needed funds will go toward new, improved mammography equipment, a new state-of-the-art ultrasound machine, and supplemental funding for employee housing.”
